Hi Taylor, it’s me again. First of all, I want to wish you a very Happy New Year for 2025. And of course, how could I ever forget the unforgettable 2024? It truly was the year you made so many of us feel alive. You wrapped up the Eras Tour in December, almost like a beautiful farewell to the year. I have no doubt that 2024 was a magical time for the millions of fans around the world who had the privilege of attending. Congratulations on the success of your masterpiece, a journey, a moment that brought all the amazing souls together, leaving behind a legacy that will echo for years
This year, you gave us everything you had, just as you promised. You created memories and moments that will forever live in our hearts.
And yet, here I am again, writing to you, like I always do. There’s something about writing to you that never grows old, never tires me. You’ve taught me how to keep writing, how to pour my heart into every word. It’s not easy, though, Taylor. I can’t help but feel like I wasn’t part of the journey this time around, even though I watched from afar, hoping and longing to be a part of something so extraordinary. My heart aches with the thought of what could’ve been, but I know I’ll hold onto these feelings, these words, and the memories you’ve given me forever.
Even though I’m far, as distant as the stars, as distant as the Andromeda Galaxy, as far as the Eagle Nebula. I witnessed those moments from afar,I watched those moments from a distance, aching for the closeness I could never reach. Throughout this entire year, these months, these days, I’ve watched you grow, watched how far you’ve come, and how you’ve gifted us this masterpiece. 2024 has been a rollercoaster, a year full of emotions, heartache, pain, and the toughest of days. It felt like I was fighting in a great war, and yet, somehow, I survived. I survived the great war of 2024 but the cost… the cost was so much more than I ever expected.
But more than that, something personal happened. I graduated on December 14th, just a day after your December 13th, and that made it all the more significant to me. In the darkest of times, when I felt like I might lose myself, when I was drowning in those long, lonely nights, I made a vow to myself: if I survived this war, I would never give up. I would be stronger, braver, more resilient. I would follow my heart, follow my dreams. And now, standing here, I can say I survived. I made it through.
There are so many things that words can never truly capture, but if they were your words, even a single one would speak the depths of what I feel. Yet here I am, just an ordinary writer, one who scribbles college assignments, essays, and mundane words that barely scratch the surface of my soul. It’s almost laughable when I think of my creativity, how it feels like a fleeting echo in the vastness of everything. But I’ll admit, I’m also a broken soul, a wanderer lost in the blues, drowning in an ocean so deep, my journey feels longer than the very universe itself.
Sometimes, I wonder, how is it that we live on the same pale blue dot, spinning in the vastness of space, yet it feels so impossible to meet the person we love? Why does it feel like a battle, a fire we have to endure, when we’re so close, living right next door, just separated by a window? It’s a thought that haunts me, an ache that lingers in my heart, as I dream of simply seeing you, even for a moment. Just one glimpse to make the distance, the longing, feel real.
In the midst of all this emptiness, I’ve found something I never expected, I’ve met so many Swifties in Nepal who have become a part of my journey. I used to be a person with no friends, someone who was alone, and even when I did have friends, I knew it was only out of sympathy, not true connection. Being diagnosed with an incurable disease left me feeling crippled, and it was only natural for people to be around me because they felt sorry for me. But with these Swiftie friends, it’s different. With them, I feel like I have real friends, people who are here because they genuinely want to be, not because they pity me. Maybe it’s because we share that same love for you, Taylor.
I even celebrated my birthday with them this year, something I had never done before in my life. And today, I rang in the new year of 2025 with them, and it was one of the most memorable and beautiful days of my life. I feel like I’m part of something much bigger now, something that connects us all. I used to hide away from the world because it felt so distant, so unwelcoming, like I didn’t have a place here. But now, I’m going out, visiting beautiful places, and I realize that it’s because of you, Taylor. You’ve brought us all together, and you’ve made me feel alive again.
I’ve found friends to share my life with, to be there through the highs and lows, and they’ve become an integral part of my journey. I never thought someone like me, someone so lost and alone, could ever find a place like this, surrounded by people who truly care. I owe that to them, and to you, Taylor. You’ve given me a reason to believe in the possibility of something beautiful, something I never dared to dream. And for that, from the deepest part of my soul, I thank you, and I thank them.
As I come to the end of this letter, I can’t help but reflect on how far I’ve come, how much has changed. I never thought this life, this sense of connection, would be mine. But somehow, I’ve found it, and I will cherish it forever. So I stop my pen here, knowing that these words, however small, carry all the weight of my heart. To all the incredible souls I’ve met, thank you for being part of my story. And to you, Taylor, Happy New Year of 2025. I can only hope that someday, somewhere in the next era, I’ll get to see you.
