The Stars Know How Much I Miss You

I stepped outside today, hoping the wind might carry you away from my soul.
Hoping the cold air might freeze this ache,
That the streets, the crowds, the noise
Might drown the whispers of your name inside my head.

But the city was cruel.
It dragged me back into the wreckage of us,
Every step a stumble, every breath a wound.
And in every street, at every corner,
All I wished for
Was to see you one last time before you go.

Because when you leave,
Something in me will collapse,
Something that will never rise again.

They say let go.
They say time will wash it all away.
They say hearts mend, memories fade.
But how do I forget the hands that built me?
How do I erase the voice that made me feel alive?
How do I unlove the most beautiful soul
I have ever known?

I spill this agony onto paper,
I carve it into my skin,
I bleed it into the air I breathe.
Every heartbeat still belongs to you.
Every fragment of me still aches for you

They tell me love is meant to heal,
But what do they know of a love that only destroys?
What do they know of planting flowers in a land of ashes,
Of building faith in the ruins of hope,
Of dreaming of paradise while burning in hell?

Your voice
Oh God, your voice
It lingers like a song that won’t stop playing.
Like Taylor Swift singing Enchanted,
Like a melody that shatters me over and over again.
And God, I was enchanted to meet you.
I blushed, I trembled,
I lived in the warmth of your touch,
never knowing love could feel so real
or hurt so much.
And I was destroyed by knowing I could never keep you

I dreamed of Paris, but not for the city.
I dreamed of Paris with you.
To stand beneath its skies,
To hold your hand beneath its lights,
To whisper in the softest breath, Je t’aime,
And meant it with every shattered piece of me.
But Paris was a mirage,
A cruel fantasy,
A love story I wrote in disappearing ink.

Somewhere along the way,
I found a friend in you.
Even as my heart craved more,
I swore to never lose you.
But I lost you anyway.

And just because I fell doesn’t mean you had to catch me.
I understand.
I respect the line I never meant to cross,
The boundaries I never wished to break.
But when did I stray too far?
When did loving you become my greatest sin?

I want to let you go.
I swear I do.
But letting go feels like another kind of dying.
And I am already a ghost of the person I was before you

I dreamed of Paris with you.
But now, I must learn to dream alone.

Still, before everything turns to dust,
Before the echoes of your name fade into nothing,
I hopeoh, how I hope
That we cross paths once more.
Even if you have moved on,
Even if I am still trapped in the ruins,
Loving you in silence,
Loving you in pieces,
Loving you still.

You Were Never Mine, Yet I Lost You

I walk this empty road,
lost in the echoes of your name,
numb, shattered,
searching for something I know I’ll never find.
Hope lingers like a ghost,
but even ghosts fade.

Oh, how I fell for you
this time deeper, harder, lonelier.
I long for a home,
but only if it’s with you.
This is our last time,
yet I still want to hold you,
to touch you,
to never let go.

I forgot myself in you.
I lost my own light chasing your glow.
But I do not regret loving you.
I do not regret anything.
I am proud
proud to have loved someone so kind,
so gentle, so radiant,
the one who saw beauty in my wreckage,
truth beneath my lies.

You told me I’d be fine,
that I deserved love,
that I was strong enough to survive the great war.
Tell me, how could I ever regret
falling for someone like you?

I still remember our first meeting,
the way your presence felt like poetry,
the dress you wore,
the gentle touch of your skin,
pure as crystal,
delicate as a whisper.
the scent of you
roses and water lilies wrapped in warmth

I remember the way my hands ached to reach for you,
how my fingertips brushed your hair,
how you bit your lips,
how your eyes shone like stars before dawn
I remember how my heart stuttered,
how my name tasted different on your lips,
how I fell for you,
over and over,
until falling was all I knew.

But time was cruel
our moment slipped away faster than a breath.
You were real, yet now,
you exist only in my heart,
a story with no proof,
a love with no photograph,
a tragedy so beautiful
it feels like a dream.

If they ask for proof,
how do I show them
the weight of a love that only lives in memories?
How do I explain the ache of losing
something that was never mine to hold?
They tell me to forget,
to move on, to let go
but how do I silence a heart
that still beats for you?
How do I stop wondering
if I will ever love again,
if someone else will look at me the way you did,
if anyone will see through me
the way you saw through my walls?

But now you are gone.
And with you, so is my everything.
I lost you,
even though you were never mine to lose.
My world once revolved around you,
but now, my brightest star has vanished.

I write and write,
spilling my soul into empty pages,
yet it is never enough.
How do I stop writing about you,
when every breath still belongs to you?
How do I love again,
when my heart is still yours?

I feared the last goodbye,
but I know I must say it.
Yet, moving on feels like drowning
with no shore in sight.
Now, you are just a ghost,
a voice lingering in every song I whisper.

They said love can hurt.
I should have listened.
They said forget.
But your memory finds me a million times a day.

And now I understand
you were the right person,
but the wrong time.
Yet, does timing even matter
when something was never meant to stay?

You are now a scar,
hidden beneath the skin of my soul,
a love I will never share,
a wound I will never heal.

Every time I see you,
I break all over again.
Every day,
every night,
but still
I will never stop loving you.

I forgive you.
I release you.
But I will never forget you.

Even if my name fades from your lips,
you will remain in my heart.

Fading Like a Final Breath

My eyes bleed with unshed tears,
my heart shattered beyond repair.
My mind slipping, unraveling,
clutching at the ghosts of hope.
Something bigger,
something better,
something different
but none of it ever came.

I am drowning in the weight of you,
trapped in the echoes of your last words.
Scrolling through old texts,
trying to understand
maybe I was lost in your translation.
Maybe I was lost in a love
that was never mine to hold.

I stand at the edge,
bare feet blistered on burning coals,
adrift in an endless void,
a universe too vast for me to bear alone.
Fire licks at my bones,
guilt etches scars into my skin.
I have become a sinner in this love,
a ghost of a war I couldn’t win.
But you never saw
never saw how broken I truly am.

It all became something bigger,
something crueler.
A war I was meant to lose.
I betrayed myself
in hoping, in loving, in dreaming.
What I longed for is impossible now.
I could not survive this war.
And I never will.

Your fingers, your hairpin,
the lips I memorized in shades of longing.
Your voice, a melody too sweet to forget.
Your eyes, burning brighter than Venus,
a light I could find in a billion souls.
Even if you were lost in Andromeda,
I would still see you.

But now
now you are gone.
So far so untouchably far.
Like a planet lost among a trillion stars,
a world I will never reach.
I have lost you.
Even though you were never mine to lose.

But I still remember.
Your hairpin, your touch
the almosts, the nevers.
My fingers almost reached for you once.
And I will never regret loving you.
Even if the universe erases me,
even if time forgets me,
will you still remember?

I found you in my darkness,
but you were never meant to stay.
We were never meant to be.
We have become something nameless,
something lost in the void.
And I did not survive this war.

But I know
you feel it too.
The guilt, the weight of it.
But it’s okay.
You never hurt me.
I was the one who let myself drown.

You told me to be strong,
as strong as the love I held for you.
Unshakable. Unyielding.
Like gravity itself.
But I am not.
Because here I am
writing about you,
falling apart for you,
instead of moving on.

All I have left of you
is the face I can’t forget,
the lips I still dream of,
the hairpin I almost touched.
Faded words,
blurred messages,
tears staining the pages.

Writing about you is losing myself.
Searching for you is chasing something
that was never real.
Wanting you is desperate,
tragic,
beautiful.
Needing you is like gasping for air,
like survival itself.
Loving you is red
red, red, red until I bleed out.
And now, I am dark gray, all alone.

You never made me promises,
never said forever.
And yet, your name still feels like home
still made me feel whole.
But I can’t stay here anymore.
I have to close this chapter
like closing my eyes for the last time.
I have to let you go
like exhaling my final breath.

I want to tell you I’m sorry.
For everything.
But most of all,
for loving you so much
that I forgot how to survive without you.

Drifting Through The Void

Today feels endless, yet I am unmoving—
Lying in this hollow space, watching you fade,
Drifting further, out of reach, out of sight.
I whisper your name into the void,
But the silence tells me you are already gone.

Falling in love was never supposed to be this cruel.
All I wanted was to stand beside you,
To hold your hand in the quiet of the night,
But that dream
It never left the walls of my heart.
It never lived beyond my own illusions.

I still remember the moments we shared
Brief, fleeting, slipping through my grasp
Like sand in a storm.
We never even knew each other, not truly,
Like planets that only pass once in eternity.
But somehow, I fell
Harder than I ever thought possible.

My love was gravity,
Pulling me into the depths of you,
And now I am lost
Plunging into an abyss so dark,
A black hole where even light cannot survive.

You were everything.
The most beautiful soul,
The most gentle presence,
The one who stood beside me
When I could barely stand at all.

Yet our time together
Was shorter than my own breath,
And still, it left wounds
That will never heal.

You said, “je suis désolée” for things you never did.
For things you never meant.
And I, blinded by pain,
Let my own heart bleed against your kindness,
Blaming you when I was the one
Who let myself drown.

It was never you who hurt me.
It was me.
It was the weight of my own hope
A hope so desperate, so relentless,
That it crushed me under its weight.

I wanted more.
More than friendship,
More than reality could allow.
But hope is more brutal than love,
And now I see
There was never an “us” to begin with.

Now, my love drifts through an empty sky,
Colder than the loneliest star,
More shattered than the ruins of an asteroid,
A love lost in a galaxy that never knew its name.

I wish I could take back the words I never meant,
But regrets do not bring back the dead.
That night, I lost you forever.
That night, I buried my last chance.

If we meet again
If by some cruel twist of fate our paths cross—
I will not dare to look into your eyes.
Because in your eyes, I once saw stars.
And I fear that if I look again,
I will only see the truth
That I was never in them.

Now, even the roads feel hollow,
Like an endless void swallowing me whole.
Like a star collapsing under its own loneliness,
Like a story left unwritten,
Like a love that was never real.

So I pour my soul into ink and paper,
Because only they will listen now.
My feelings and love buried so deep, so silent
Are known only by my therapist, this pen and this paper
The weight of my love, the ache of my longing
The word I never got to say
My love exists only in these words,
Only in the spaces between my broken lines.
I will love you until the universe forgets me,
But my writing
Like me
Is incomplete without you.

And so, I fade.
Like interstellar dust lost in the dark,
Like a dying whisper in the wind.
For without you,
There is nothing left to say.

Ghost Of Goodbye

The light in my room flickered like a dying ember,
and my phone, barely breathing, clung to its charger.
Then—your notification rang.
For a moment, my heart surged with hope,
only to be crushed beneath the weight of reality.

I clicked without thinking, desperation clawing at my chest,
only to find a story I never wanted to read.
You were leaving.
The words burned into my eyes,
my vision blurred by the flood of tears I could no longer hold back.
You were leaving, without goodbye.

I shattered.
The air felt heavier, the walls colder.
You had promised.
You swore you’d say goodbye,
no matter what, no matter how.
But now, you were gone.
Like a ghost, like a shadow slipping through my fingers.

I tried to breathe,
but the weight of your silence crushed my lungs.
I tried to hold on,
but you had already let go.
I poured my pain into a message,
five long paragraphs of grief, longing, and love.
And then—I erased it.
Because what’s the point of words
when the person they’re meant for has already forgotten you exist?

I wanted to let go.
God, I wanted to.
But tell me—how do you let go of someone
who never even gave you the mercy of a final glance?
Did I mean so little?
Were you too busy, too distant, too indifferent?
did I just never matter at all?

Or was I never meant to be remembered at all?

I traced your face like it was a masterpiece,
memorized the way your eyes held the stars.
But now, those stars have turned cold,
their light fading into a sky that no longer belongs to me.
I wanted to say I was happy for you,
but the words died in my throat,
buried beneath the ruins of everything we were.

Maybe this is how I was meant to be forgotten—
silently, carelessly, as if I was never here at all.
Maybe I was nothing more than a chapter
you skimmed through and left unfinished.
But in every world, every life, every universe,
I know I would have searched for you.
And in every single one,
you still would have left me behind.

And so here I am
drifting, haunted, drowning in an ocean of memories
that refuse to let me breathe.
I would have followed you to the ends of the earth.
I would have stood beside you.
I only wanted to say I was proud, that I was happy for you.

But I guess I was never meant to.
I guess even my goodbye was never meant to reach you.

Still, some part of me aches
hoping that someday, somewhere, somehow,
our paths will cross again.
And I wonder, will you even recognize my name?

Until then—goodbye.
Even if you never said it first.

          Love in Limbo

It was a yellow evening, the sun bidding its farewell as it dipped beneath the horizon. The garden was empty, silent—just me, sitting alone, nursing a beer in a haze of memories. I drank without pause, trying to drown the weight of her absence, as shadows of her lingered, pulling me into their embrace. It was a love that never left me, even after three years. A love that only I carried, though it was never returned in the way I hoped. The feeling was one-sided, and though my heart screamed her name, I was the only one echoing it.

As I sat there, lost in the emptiness of the garden, someone approached me. I didn’t want to talk; the silence was my refuge. But when I turned, there she was—a stranger, yet her face seemed to light up the very night. Her features were like a moonbeam, eyes gleaming like distant stars, and her skin shone like rose milk, glowing with a warmth I hadn’t felt in so long. Our eyes met, and in that fleeting moment, I was reminded of the world outside of my own sorrow. She called me cute, words I hadn’t heard in ages, and for a brief second, I was lifted. But even as she spoke, my heart remained bound to another, to the one who had left me stranded in the past. I still loved her, despite the distance, despite the time that had passed.

I found myself drawn to that garden, not because of the beauty or the peace it held, but because it was where I could be alone with my thoughts—drowning in her memory. And there, I met the stranger, the girl whose presence somehow filled the space that was hollowed out by my unspoken love for someone else. As time passed, we grew closer, like the pull between a planet and its star, like the Earth reaching for the moon. But still, despite the warmth that grew between us, I couldn’t let go of the feeling for her—the one I couldn’t forget, the one who would always be my first love.

There were others who admired me, who offered affection, but it wasn’t the same. No matter how much I enjoyed her company, it wasn’t love. It was just an attraction, a fleeting comfort that I allowed myself to feel but couldn’t hold onto. I was caught between wanting to move forward and being unable to break free from the hold of someone I’d never stop loving. I couldn’t let go of the past, even as I stood in the present with someone who had shown me kindness.

Though I grew closer to the stranger, we were never truly a couple. We acted as though we were, but the truth was we weren’t. I could sense the signals from her, the quiet gestures that made me feel like she might care, like she might want something more. But she remained distant, almost oblivious, as though she didn’t understand the quiet pull between us.

I know deep down that with this new person, I enjoy their company more than I should, and I’m drawn to them in a way that’s both comforting and confusing. There’s an undeniable attraction, a connection that feels real in the moment, yet there’s something inside me telling me that I’m not truly ready. I often wonder if this feeling is just a distraction, a way to fill the empty space left by someone who’s no longer part of my life. It’s not love, not in the way I once knew it. It’s more of an attraction, something that feels like a temporary escape from the ache I still carry inside for my past love.

I’m caught in a tangled mess of emotions. At times, it feels like I’m in some kind of situationship, stuck between my past and the present. I can’t move on from the person who once held my heart, but at the same time, I find myself getting closer to someone new, someone who’s offering a kind of warmth and affection I didn’t think I was ready for. It’s like I’m stuck between wanting to fall for this new person, to let myself be open to them, but also secretly wanting my past love to see me with them. I want my past to know that I’ve moved on, that I can be happy, that I’ve found someone who might fill the gap they left behind. But at the same time, it feels like a betrayal, as though I’m using this new person to somehow get a reaction from the one who isn’t here anymore.

I feel conflicted, lost in my own confusion. Am I being honest with myself? Am I being fair to this new person, who doesn’t deserve to be a part of my messy, tangled emotions? There’s a part of me that knows I’m not fully giving myself to them because my heart is still elsewhere, still wrapped up in memories I can’t seem to let go of. Sometimes I don’t even know what kind of love I felt for the past person. Was it real? Was it something I imagined in my head, something I built up because I needed it to be true?

And so, here I am, stuck in the middle of it all, torn between the past that refuses to let go of me and the present that I don’t know how to embrace. I want to let myself move on, but part of me is still waiting, still hoping for something that may never come. And in the process, I’m unsure if I’m truly moving forward or just pretending to, holding onto this new connection because it feels easier than facing the painful truth that I’m still in love with someone who’s no longer mine.

I, in my broken state, was left to wonder if I was just imagining it all, trapped in the web of my own unhealed heart. She could never be her, and I could never move on from the love that had left me behind. I was stuck, holding onto something that was never meant to be, slowly dying inside with every passing day.

The space you left

The cold seeps into my soul, leaving me numb,
The love I once had for you, now feels undone.
Your gaze, once everything, now just a distant dream,
A love lost in time, slipping through the seams.

It’s been a year and a half, I thought I moved on,
But seeing you again, I realize I was wrong.
For you, it was always just us, nothing more,
But for me, that “us” is something I can’t restore.

I speak your name, and my heart falls apart,
Every whisper of you, a dagger to my heart.
The moment I saw you, I couldn’t breathe,
Tears fell, wondering if you’d ever grieve.

Did you miss us, like I miss you still?
Or have you erased the love we once had, at will?
You restricted me, blocked me from your sight,
But I couldn’t block you, no matter how I might.

I couldn’t let go, couldn’t cut you out,
Even when the pain left me with so much doubt.
I fell harder than you ever could,
The weight of this loss, a pain misunderstood.

Did you ever regret us, like I regret the end?
Did you ever think about me, or was it all pretend?
I wonder if your heart’s now gone away,
To someone new, who makes you want to stay.

For me, the ache lingers, never fades,
A love that once burned, now just an endless parade.
I wanted to be home with you, in your embrace,
But it slipped away, leaving an empty space.

I wonder, do you ever think of us?
Or have you forgotten, left us in the dust?
The beauty you hold, I can’t bear to see,
A gaze I longed for, now haunting me.

Maybe it was the right person, at the wrong time,
Or the wrong person at the perfect climb.
You were magic, you enchanted me,
But now I’m left with nothing but misery.

For you, it’s over, for me, it’s never done,
A love that burned out before it even began.
I wish you the best, but my heart can’t let go,
This goodbye, it’s killing me, and you’ll never know.

Unseen, Unheard, and Ghosted: Unwritten Goodbye

The room was cloaked in a dim, haunting blue. My corner stood desolate, the bed still cold, a stark reminder of the void beside me. I could almost feel the ghost of someone who once wrapped around my hand, a figment of my longing imagination. Three long years have passed, yet here I remain, waiting for a love that disappeared from this world, leaving me in a never-ending limbo. Today, numb and directionless, I find solace in the burn of heavy vodka, neat and unforgiving.

As I scrolled through Instagram, she appeared again. After a year of relentless loneliness, her image burned into my eyes. She was as beautiful as ever, those lips a perfect blend of red and pink, the classic red lips I adored. It brought back the dream of kissing her, of a love that felt like an inferno. Loving her was a vibrant, passionate red, a color that once filled my world. But now, missing her is a dark, solitary abyss. Even after three years, the thought of moving on seems impossible.

I thought time would heal, that the memories would fade. But each day, the pain lingers, growing heavier. Seeing her once more, looking radiant and untouchable, was like reopening an old wound. My heart aches with unrequited love, a love that was never truly mine. The dream of us, vibrant and red, contrasts starkly with the reality of my existence, broken and blue.

Loving her feels like being enveloped in a burning red flame, intense and consuming. Missing her, on the other hand, plunges me into a shadowy void, where the echoes of her laughter haunt my every thought. I am left here, stranded in a sea of memories, the hope of seeing her again the only light in my darkness. Yet, that light flickers, reminding me that she is gone, and I am here, drowning in my unfulfilled love, waiting for a resolution that may never come.

It started as something small, something fleeting, but before I knew it, it grew into something far bigger, something that consumes me entirely. And now, once again, I feel like I’ve been betrayed—not by her directly, but by the quiet, unspoken betrayal of my own heart. A one-sided love that only I ever felt, that I still hold onto, even though it was never truly mine. A friend once told me I was lost, but somehow, I found my way back. But in truth, it’s been torture—this love, this waiting, this longing. The worst part is, no matter how much it hurts, you can’t let go. Your heart refuses to forget, refuses to surrender, and keeps yearning for something that can never return.

I keep thinking it’s her touch, her hands that trigger all of this—the warmth I used to feel when they were around mine. But now, those hands are gone. She’s gone. And it feels like losing a piece of myself that I’ll never get back. It’s so bittersweet, this feeling that lingers between friendship and something more, but never quite crossing into something real. It’s that space in between, the undefined, where you are more than friends but not quite in a relationship—just stuck in the in-between. And that, I realize, is when you’re fighting invisible battles, waging a war that no one else can see. The worst part of this war is that it’s not fair. You know, deep down, you’ll never win. But still, you fight. You fight for something you can never have.

After seeing her on Instagram, seeing the joy in her eyes, it felt like a sharp, cruel reminder that she has moved on, that she’s happy now, living a life that no longer includes me. I wonder, though—did she ever miss us? Did she ever wonder about the love we shared, even if it was only in my heart? Did she regret it, or did it simply fade away for her, as if it never mattered? I wonder if she ever thought about me the way I still think about her. You held me once, and I felt it—those fleeting moments where everything seemed to make sense. But now, I’m left wondering if she feels even a fraction of what I still carry with me. It’s hard to let go, to accept that I’m alone in this fight, a battle that I know I’ll never win and I don’t know how to let go of this love that was never meant to be. It’s as if my heart can’t accept that it’s over, that she’s gone and I’ll never have what I so desperately wanted. But still, I cling to the hope that maybe, somehow, she might have felt it too. And in that hope, I’m slowly breaking.

Now, I’m shattered, broken in a way that feels like it’s consuming me. I walked into a bar, already draped in loneliness, hoping that the drink would be enough to numb the ache, to help me forget her. But it wasn’t. The one-sided love I carried, it’s not just pain; it’s torture, it’s suffocation, it’s everything that weighs me down, draining me of the strength to breathe. I thought I had survived the worst of it, that I had conquered the great war of my heart, but I see now, I haven’t. I couldn’t. All I see, all I think, all I feel is her. And I don’t want to fight anymore. I don’t have the strength. Now, everything around me is just darkness—black, empty, suffocating. It’s all just a lonely shade of grey. I don’t want to miss her anymore. I don’t want to live this way, and I don’t want to love again, not anyone.

I lay on my pillow, wet with tears, remembering the nights I spent drowning in the memory of her. She was beautiful, in a way that could never be explained in words. Her eyes, shining like stars, were enough to make the world stand still. Her lips, that classic red, burned like the sun, a fire I never knew how to extinguish. She was as beautiful as the nebula—an unreachable, unfathomable beauty. But in my desperate search for her light, I fell into a black hole, a void that is so far beyond my reach. It wasn’t beautiful here, in this place where I’ve been left. All I can do is see her, her sparkling eyes from a distance so far away, like I’m just a star in the sky, flickering from a place where I’ll never be close enough to touch her.

I still blush when I see her, even from afar, wondering if she ever felt that pull toward me, or if I’m the only one enchanted by her presence. But the truth is, it doesn’t matter. I’m falling, over and over, in a cycle that I can’t seem to escape. Every time I think I’ve fallen far enough, I slip even further into this deep, endless hole. And yet, I can’t seem to stop. I’m drowning in it, over and over again, like the weight of her beauty is too much for me to bear, and yet, I continue to fall and I will never stop aching for her.

One Donation, Endless Hope: Help Shisham Fight Cancer and Win Her Battle

Life can feel unbearably heavy and deeply unfair, especially for those battling cancer. Every second counts, every moment is a struggle. It’s impossible to fully articulate the pain and suffering that patients with incurable, chronic illnesses endure. Watching such incredible souls go through unimaginable hardships breaks the heart and raises the question why do they have to suffer like this? What could they have possibly done to deserve such a cruel fate?

Meet Shisham Thapa, a brave 24-year-old fighting an extraordinary battle against Acute Myeloid Leukemia—a relentless cancer of the myeloid blood cells that rapidly grows abnormal cells, overwhelming the bone marrow and blood, disrupting normal blood cell production.

This is not Shisham’s first fight. 5/6 years ago, she faced the same devastating diagnosis. Her family poured every ounce of their strength and sacrifice to give her a chance to survive. For a fleeting moment, it felt like she had triumphed. But fate, in its cruelty, shattered that hope.

Just two months ago, Shisham fell ill with dengue and appendicitis. While undergoing tests, the worst news came that her cancer had returned. It’s her second diagnosis, a relapse. Now, She now lies in the sterile confines of Civil Hospital in Baneshwor, locked in a relentless battle she cannot yet see at the end of. With each passing day, uncertainty clouds her future, but her spirit remains unbroken. Despite the odds, she holds on fiercely, undergoing chemotherapy in Nepal, as doctors advise a bone marrow transplant, a crucial step in this fight for her life.

Shisham Thapa comes from a humble, middle-class family whose love and sacrifices know no bounds. Yet, their financial reality stands as a harsh barrier against the staggering cost of her treatment, estimated to be over 50,000 CAD. Despite their unyielding efforts, her parents simply cannot afford the immense burden of saving their daughter’s life.

So far, through the kindness and generosity of friends, relatives , INGOs/NGOs, government aid and their own saving, they have managed to raise 25,000 CAD.  But time is slipping away, and they are still far from the goal. Imagine the heartbreak of watching someone you love fight for their life, knowing that money is the only thing standing between them and a chance at survival.

We live in a country where the healthcare system is shattered, and health insurance fails to provide even the most basic coverage. For years, cancer has been a growing crisis in Nepal. In 2022 alone, over 22,000 new cases were estimated, with nearly 15,000 lives lost. Since 1990, this burden has almost doubled, creating a devastating toll on families.

Cancer isn’t just a physical battle; it’s a financial one that destroys families like Shisham Thapa’s. For ordinary people like her, the costs are insurmountable. In Nepal, treatments like chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and essential medications come with an unbearable price tag. A single chemotherapy session costs approximately Rs. 64,000, and the average total cost of cancer treatment is around NRs. 387,000, an amount far beyond the reach of most Nepalese families.

Despite government subsidies for some anticancer medicines and radiotherapy, the majority of treatment expenses remain uncovered. Patients are left to pay out of pocket, leading 86.1% of families to face severe financial hardships. This cruel reality forces many to abandon hope altogether.

Cancer has taken so much from Shisham, yet she continues to fight courageously. She is someone’s daughter, sister, and best friend  their entire world. She doesn’t deserve to give up her life because of unaffordable medical bills.

For Shisham Thapa and countless others like her, time is slipping away. Cancer doesn’t wait, and neither should we. Your swift action and support could mean the difference between life and loss, offering a second chance to those who desperately need it.
